2014 BSA Summer Camps

BSA Campgrounds

We have the following BSA Campgrounds open to us:

Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation (MSR) in Pearson, WI

Imagine spending time in the Wisconsin north woods where the fish are enormous, the air is crisp and clean, and innumerable stars and the Northern Lights illuminate the sky. Located 25 miles northeast of Antigo, Wisconsin, Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation includes 1,560 acres of beautiful forest, two lakes and a natural creek. On this property our Council operates two full service camps, plus a wilderness camp, a horse ranch and a family camp. During the summer months, Boy Scouts and Venturers attend for one or two weeks, plus Cub Scouts and their families have the opportunity to attend " Fun with Son" or Akela Camp.
Program areas:  Archery, fishing, BB-Guns, swimming, boating, sports, hiking, scouting skills, nature trails, campfires, and more.  
Housing:  Tents on platforms with two cots, shower facilities, dining hall.  There is space to bring your own tent.
Facilities: Two Dining Halls.  Over 30 campsites. 4 Shower Facilities (summer only). 
Aquatics Areas.  Field Sports Areas. Climbing Tower . Two Campfire Bowls.  Family Cabins (summer only)

Family Camp - 2014

Your scouts get to have fun in the Wild, Wild, West while they learn skills and get to know nature better.  Attend as a family, pack, or den.If you register as a pack or den, a minimum of 2 adult leaders is required (See Day Camp for examples of adult/scout ratios).  If registering as a family (parent with own cub scout), only one adult is required.
There are similar programs in two different locations.

June 13-15 at Camp Oakarro in Wadsworth, IL
When:  Friday 5-7PM - Sunday, by 9:30AM

Who:  A Scout and his entire family, including siblings

Cost without food:  $25 per Scout $25 per Non-scout Youth (Ages 7 years & older)
$25 per Adult $10 per Siblings Ages 4-6 years
   FREE for Siblings under Age 4 (3 years & younger)

Cost with food:  $55 per Scout $55 per Non-scout Youth (Ages 7 years & older)
                                $55 per Adult $20 per Siblings Ages 4-6 years
   FREE for Siblings under Age 4 (3 years & younger)

"Cost with food" includes:  Late night snack on Friday, 3 meals on Saturday, and Sunday Breakfast.

June 20-22 at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation (MSR) in Pearson, Wisconsin

When: Friday night - Sunday morning after breakfast

Who:  A Scout and his entire family, including siblings

Cost:   Includes meals! (Late night snack on Friday through Sunday Breakfast, plus a 2nd Cracker Barrel (snack) on Saturday night.)

$55 per Scout; $55 per Adult; $55 per Non-scout Youth (Ages 7 years& older); $20 per Siblings Ages 4-6; FREE for Siblings under Age 4(3 years & younger)

HOUSING:  Bring Your Own Tents (for Family Camp)

Webelos Camps - 2014

Camps for Webelos only!  Current 3rd & 4th graders as well as their chaperones/leaders may register.

At MSR in Pearson, WI - Akela Camp

June 29-July 2, (Sunday, after 2PM - Wednesday, by 2PM)

What:  This Webelos Only Resident Camp is an exciting adventure that will give Webelos 1 & Webelos 2 Scouts a taste of Boy Scout Adventure while they earn activity badges & belt loops, and camp with their parent or Webelos leader.  There is a minimum of 2 adults for pack and den registrations.  If registering as a family (Parent with own Webelos), only one adult is required.

EXTENDED PROGRAM IN 2014:  After breakfast on Wednesday, you will have the opportunity to complete activity badges or have one more chance to enjoy your favorite camp activity. Lunch has been added before check-out.

Cost: Includes meals!  (Sunday Dinner through Wednesday Lunch, plus Cracker Barrels (snacks) on Sunday and Tuesday night.)

$160 for Scouts, $65 for adults

At Camp Lakota in Woodstock, IL - Webelos Resident Camp
When: July 31 - August 3

What: Webelos 1 & 2 Laktoa awaits to see your pioneering skills as you earn Webelos activity pins and get back to the wilderness leaving no trace (LNT) as you trek your way through the woods!

Day Camp - 2014

Join us at Camp Oakarro this summer, where scouts will have an excellent opportunity for summertime fun close to home!   Your cub scouts can enjoy themselves in the great outdoors and earn advancements too! This exciting program is now for 3 days!

Session 1: June 16-18
Session 2: June 19-21
Session 3: June 23-25
Session 4: June 26-28

Times: 8:30am-3pm

Who: Tigers - Webelos II (current kindergartners - 4th graders)  There are requirements for the amount of Adult Leaders that must attend.

$75 per Cub Scout; Required adult leaders are free.

Cub Scout Resident Camp - 2014

This year's Cub Scout Resident Camp, held at Camp Lakota, will explore the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program. All scouts attending will earn their NOVA award. Scouts will also begin working towards their Super Nova award. Not to mention they will be learning scout skills and outdoor camping.

Webelos will have the opportunity to working towards their Engineering & Scientist pins alongside Tigers, Wolves, & Bears working on various Science, Weather, Astronomy & Map & Compass Belt-loops & pins plus much more for all including BB, Archery, and Swimming.

July 17 - July 20
August 14 - August 17

Where: Camp Lakota, Woodstock, IL

Who: Tigers - Webelos (current kindergartners - 4th graders)
2 Deep leadership & 1:4 (Leader to Scout ratio) needed.  Those entering 1st grade in the fall must be accompanied by an adult regardless of how many other leaders are present.
